L'Eloïna David - Montagne St Emilion - Prestige

Eloina David, produced from the oldest cabernet franc parcels of the property, has become part of the great Bordeaux wine tradition. Matured for 18 to 24 months in new barrels, this wine seduces with its rich and complex bouquet, with hints of black fruits, spices and menthol. Its silky and elegant tannins ensure a good balance through to the harmonious aftertaste. A classy wine best appreciated between 5 and 15 years of age (annual production 6000 bottles).

Year 2005

It has a very subtle nose, blending dark fruit (mainly mature) with a hint of minerals and fine spices. There is a velvety entrance to the mouth with fine, crisp tannins. The inner mouth feel is pulpy, rich and sensual with such a wonderful final blend of crushed dark fruit! The wine has a lasting after-taste with pure, intense flavours. It has a perfect balance and is hard to resist. Simply superb !!!
With grilled ribs with « wine merchant » sauce, rabbit hunter-style, cooked game meats, lamb chops in green pepper sauce, creamy, ripened cheeses, Brie, Soumaintrain, Pierre Robert…

Year 2004

This is the finest wine we have had in the 5 years since 2000, and interestingly seems to have the same charm and nobility as the famous 2000. Very dark in colour, it pours with grace and the surprise is wonderful when you raise the glass to your nose: blackberry, myrtle, smoked wood and vanilla, with touches of truffle and graphite, the signature of the greatest wines. Velvety and dense in texture, it completely covers the palate and lingers. The freshness of this magic wine is remarkable. It is without doubt one of the major successes of this vintage.
With duck with olives, roast rack of lamb with tomatoes, cabbage stuffed with game, Garenne stew, filled of venison with pepper sauce, tomato beef stew, strong cheeses.

Year 2002
What pleasant surprises!

A very beautiful dark colour with purple glints. The nose is very delicate, recalling black fruit and spices. In the mouth an extraordinary fullness, a wonderful quality of texture and tannins.
The flavours gradually overcome your palate and become more and more heady: the wine finally lays its cards on the table, with an impressive length. A wonderful wine to lay down.
With white or red meats roasted with mushrooms, roast shoulder of lamb, traditional leg of lamb with beans, duck breast with blackcurrant or cherry sauce, Brie, Camembert.

Year 2001

A very nice dark colour with purple glints. A rich perfume of black fruit.
In the mouth, a very concentrated wine, with a beautiful woody aroma.
The substance is there and will soon be beautifully blended with the wood.
This vintage seems to be destined to be a very good keeping wine, which should have a special place in your cellar or on your table.
With grilled entrecote steak with wine sauce, rabbit stew, breast of duck with blackcurrant sauce, game meats, lamb chops with green pepper sauce, creamy mature cheeses, Brie, Soumaintrain, Pierre Robert.

Year 2000

L’Eloïna David is remarkable for its richness and intensity of its blended flavours of fruit, smoke, vanilla and wood: a wine worthy of aging !!
GUIDE HUBERT 2004: Nez fondu et élégant, au boisé subtil; bouche très équilibrée, veloutée et fraîche, aux tannins fins et à la longue finale.
With beef chops grilled with marrow, lamb chops with savoury, duck breast in a salt crust, warm foie gras with wine sauce, fricassée of mushrooms, grilled lamb kidneys. Brie and Camembert.

In terms of excellence, the 2000 and 2001 vintages have proven exceptional: a bit of patience for the 2001 but you can get started on the very fine 2000.
This summer the 2005 was put to the test and enchanted all those present. We concluded that it was probably the finest success of this batch. Do I keep it or drink it, that is the question…
